Hodgkin Disease Treatment

Painless swelling of lymph nodes in your neck, armpits or groin.

Persistent fatigue.

Fever.

Night sweats.

Unexplained weight loss.

Severe itching.

Increased sensitivity to the effects of alcohol or pain in your lymph nodes after drinking alcohol.

Viruses: The Epstein-Barr virus, the same virus that causes infectious mononucleosis (mono), has been implicated as a cause of Hodgkin lymphoma.

Familial: Same-sex siblings and an identical twin of a person with Hodgkin lymphoma are at high risk of developing the disease.

The main treatments for Hodgkin lymphoma are chemotherapy alone, or chemotherapy followed by radiotherapy.

DIAGNOSIS:

imaging tests, such as X-rays or CT scans.

lymph node biopsy, which involves removing a piece of lymph node tissue to test for the presence of abnormal cells.

blood tests, such as a complete blood count (CBC), to measure levels of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets.
