Causes

Viruses: The Epstein-Barr virus, the same virus that causes infectious mononucleosis (mono), has been implicated as a cause of Hodgkin lymphoma.

 

Familial: Same-sex siblings and an identical twin of a person with Hodgkin lymphoma are at high risk of developing the disease.

The main treatments for Hodgkin lymphoma are chemotherapy alone, or chemotherapy followed by radiotherapy.

 

DIAGNOSIS:

imaging tests, such as X-rays or CT scans.

lymph node biopsy, which involves removing a piece of lymph node tissue to test for the presence of abnormal cells.

blood tests, such as a complete blood count (CBC), to measure levels of red blood cells, white blood cells, and platelets.
